LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD STORY
One day, her mother sent her grandmother's cottage with a basket of nice things.
Do not leave the path while you are in the wood,' said her mother.
But Red Riding Hood saw primroses, and ran to pick a bunch for her grandmother.
Just then, a wolf came up to her, and asked her where she was going.
I am going to see my grandmother,' she said.
Where does your grandmother live?' asked the wolf.
She lives in the cottage over yonder', said Red Riding Hood.
I shall run on, and tell your grandmother to expect you,' said the cunning wolf.
When he came to the cottage door, he lifted the latch, ran in, and sprang on to the bed.
The wicked wolf then put on a white night-dress and cap, and hid his face
At last, Red Riding Hood came to the cottage, and gave a little tap at the door.
Who is there ?' asked the wolf.
Red Riding Hood. Please let me in,' said the little girl.
Lift the latch, and come in,' said the wolf.
Good morning, Grandma. See, Mother has sent you something nice for tea.'
The wolf put out his nose to smell what was in the basket
What big eyes have Grandma!' said little
Riding Hood.
All the better to see you with,' said the wicked wolf.
What big ears you
have Grandma!' Said the little girl.
All the better to hear you with,' said the rascal.
What big teeth you have, Grandma!' Said Red Riding Hood.
` All the better to eat you with,' called the wolf, and sprang at the little girl.
Just then, a wood-cutter came running in.
With a stroke of his axe, he killed the wolf, and saved Red Riding Hood's life.
